Father of Index investing and one of the great people who Warren Buffet describes as “If a statue is ever erected to honor the person who has done the most for American investors, the hands downchoice should be Jack Bogle; Given a very simple formula for future stock market returns:Future Market Returns = Dividend Yield + Earnings Growth +/- Change in P/E Ratio.Bogle has outlined this formula many times and in his book In his book"Don’t Count On It",heeven provided a long-term look at how this formula has played out by decade going all the way back to 1900. The only problem with this formula is an estimation of changes in PE ratio because otherwise both the other variables can be guesstimate. As Ben Carlson, CFA mentioned the same issue in his old post:"At times high earnings growth has led to multiple expansion while other times it led to a contraction in the multiple people werewilling to pay for earnings. When investors are feeling good, they are willing to pay a higher multiple of earnings for stocks. When they are feeling nervous, they are willing to pay a lower multiple of earnings for stocks. The problem with trying to forecast stock returns is that you’re really trying to guess how people will feel in the future."#kaizencapital #stocks #investing

Last 10 Years.US Tech stocks $XLK: +530%Chinese Tech stocks $CQQQ: -13%Don't copy paste in the equities market.People usuallycopy what is working or not working in other countries will also exactly play out like the same in their own country. As greatest investor Warren Buffett said, “Investing is simple, but not easy.” Co-relations and parallels are not that easy to established especially in the equity market without context and prevalent situations. Some analyst is having the habit of pasting cut copy situations from some different country to their own country without realizing neither they are similar in their politics, economics, demography, monetary and fiscal policy and people's habit etc. One prime example is unnecessary obsession of few analysts to compare Indian equity markets withJapanese equities market and how may be going ahead there could be a long period of zero or muted returns for Indian equities in for a long period of time.#kaizencapital #stocks #investing

"The sky didn't fall once again. "Within three week duration of two major "catastrophic" event in Japan and US; equities are back to near All Time High levels once again both in the US and India. Some experts are still cursing that why "Carry Trade" and "Sahm Rule" did not able to derail the ongoing bull market in equities and the market as always again climbed all the wall of worries and buried both these events in the history book. Now many analysts will be again out there to find out a new catalyst e.g. political, commodities etc. around the world which can derail this bull run in India for the near future and up to that time period always being stayed investor in the equities will enjoy the positive returns of this bull run. #kaizencapital #stocks #nifty
