At around 1:45 a.m., Saturday, a 49-year-old female pedestrian from Winnipeg was found on the Harry Lazarenko Bridge (Redwood Bridge) suffering from serious injuries. Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service attended to the female who had already succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the woman was lying on the ground of the bridge when she was struck by a westbound vehicle. Notifications to the family have been made, police said.

The bridge was closed temporarily to both pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

About two hours later, a man was walking eastbound across Pembina Highway near Adamar Road when he was struck by a southbound vehicle. WFPS members attended and rushed him to the hospital in critical condition. The southbound lanes on Pembina between Adamar and Plaza Drive were blocked off due to the crash, but later reopened.

In all three incidents, the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene of the collision and spoke with investigators.
